Grown in the Pays d'Oc, Languedoc region is a wine that embodies elegance. Our 2022 De La Rougerie Cabernet Sauvignon is soft on the palate with supple tannins and ripe black fruit flavors. This dry red is an encore to the award-winning 2017 De La Rougerie Cabernet Sauvignon and a tribute to winemaker Benoit Calvet’s ancestor, Madame de la Rougerie, who inspired the drink with her distinguished nature and bold curiosity.
In Languedoc, the climate is Mediterranean year-round with late ripeness. Mild temperatures in autumn, winter, and spring, combined with hot, dry summers, allow the vine to thrive. The Tramontane, a strong wind, provides a vacuum for the grapes to dry naturally. Clay and limestone soils in which this wine grape is grown provide roundness.
This southern climate and modern but traditional winemaking techniques make the freshest and most balanced wines. The grapes are soft pressed before being fermented in steel, temperature-controlled vats–a process that preserves the wine’s subtlest flavors.
This elegant Cabernet Sauvignon is a smooth, easy-drinking wine that can be sipped as an aperitif or served with fine steaks and red sauce pasta dishes containing meat.
